Friday 29th August 2008

YAY Fridays are always fun at Next Generation and today was made even more special as we celebrated together Hayley turning five. Hayley is off to Verrans Primary next week and the children discussed how exciting it was to go to "big school" as Colby calls it. Then we had lots of singing and dancing as we had flying saucers flying around the room. We all enjoyed yummy chocolate cake outside - Thanks Jilliana (Hayleys Mum). Have fun at school Hayley we will miss your beautiful smile and how you read us lots of stories.

Next Generation Childcare Monday 25th August

We say welcome to Sofia and her family to the over 2's centre. Sofia comes to us from the baby centre and we have also had her brother Leo here at Next Generation. Sofia enjoyed exploring her new environment and liked the playdough.
As it was a nice day today Maria put out the buckets and paintbrushes out for the children so they all had a great time painting the fence and other outside equipment. We had lunch outside also today.

Next Generation Friday 22nd August 2008

It was a very relaxed day at Next Generation, lots of children were having quiet time and cuddles. The children also managed to stay outside making volcanos and playing with the new balls in the sunshine. We are all really looking forward to summer!!!

Next Generation Childcare, Thursday 21st August

This morning at Next Generation we managed to sneak in some lovely moments outside before the rain came pouring down again. We had so much fun chasing bubbles around the playground and learning how to blow our own bubbles too! Our student Sophie and teacher Maria had the bubble machine out too. There was lots of excess energy used up this morning and the sound of children's laughter could be heard from afar as children ran to catch the magical bubbles...

Next Generation Childcare Tuesday 19th August

Today at Next Generation we had a busy morning with being inside then outside then inside
then outside again. Lots was happening in the art room, the children feed buns for the birds
in the bird feeder.
Samrath and Toby must have observed how the teachers made the paper aeroplances as I
observed the two boys making their own. Well done boys :-)

Next Generation Childcare 15th August 2008

Happy Birthday Joel, Joel celebrated his 3rd birthday today, his mum Michelle bought in an amazing pirate ship and Joel dressed up as a pirate - dressing up is Joels favourite pass time at the moment. Michelle didn't want any of the other children to miss out so she made pirate head carves and eye patches for everyone (incuding the teachers - thanks Michelle)
We hope you mums and dads have as much fun playing pirates over the weekend as we have today at Next Generation.

Next Generation, Thursday 14th August

Today at Next Generation we spent most of the morning inside because it kept raining, and hailing. However the children were able to channel their energy into a fun and safe session of roly polying! (Makes you wish you were younger again!)

National Anthem - Next Generation August 7th

The olympics start tomorrow and we have a bunch of very eager children ready to celebrate our wins. The children have been providing us all with lots of impromptu performances of our National Anthem. This is the effort from a few of our older boys...

Next Generation Childcare Tuesday 5th August

Wow what a busy day we have had at Next Generation. As it rained a lot of this morning we had so much fun inside with a variety of activities taking place as the photo's display. Children were busy in the art room painting and collage, some children played snap also in the art room while children upstairs read, took their own photo's and played with their friends.
What a great place to come to :-)

Next Generation Childcare Daily Diary

Next Generation New Toy - Digi Blue

Soren bringing in a bumble bee provided a group of boys with extraordinary learning. These are three and four year old boys. The Digital Blue can capture, edit, animate, measure and record images. It magnifies anything from 10x all the way to 200x. You can also take it out of its slide-viewing cradle. As long as it's still plugged into the computer you can magnify anything with it. It allows children to interact with a moving and alive world, rather than the pre-prepared, dead, flat world of the traditional microscope.

Friday 1st August 2008

Friday at Next Generation was busy, we got outside for most of the day and read lots of book and sang lots of songs. It was Reubens last day - he's off to Birkdale Primary on Monday and after his last school visit this morning he got a phone call from Maree (Maree was very teary by the end of it). We will miss your singing Reuben, we look forward to your visits to tell us about your new school.
