Merr Christmas & Happy New Year 2009

To all Parents, Children and Teachers,
I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New year. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your families and are able to relax away from work for a few days.
We reopen on the 5th of January and are looking forward to a long hot summer of squirting hoses and general fun outside in the garden. Until then I hope you enjoy the beach, the barbeques, camping, or anything else you manage to squeeze into the Christmas break.
Thank you all for making 2009 so enjoyable.
Maree

T-Shirts

Have you noticed the T-shirts the teachers have been wearing? They are our new uniform. The children love our T-shirts and recognise the characters from their favourite stories. The shirts are available in childrens sizes and there are lots of different designs. Unfortunately the company does not have a website but if parents /caregivers are interested, the phone number is 8185325.

Rainy Friday......

What a miserable, wet day it has been today - but it gave us all the oppportunity to transform Next Generation into a magical Christmas Wonderland.
The children have been so busy making decorations for the Christmas tree. The walls are looking very colourful with Christmas wreaths, collage and paintings.
We don't want to spoil the surprise with photos so hope you will have a look around when you come in. The children are all looking forward to showing you their creations.
Have a fantastic weekend and we will see you all next week.

Thursday 26th November 2009

At mat time today we got out our new BeeBot and his mat! The BeeBot travels forwards, backwards and from side to side on the mat. We took turns deciding where we wanted the BeeBot to travel to, it was quite tricky! It is great for our logic, thinking and memory skills. Come in and try it out with your child.

Friday 13th October 2009

We love Fridays! On Fridays some of the children bring in one 'thing' that they would like to share with all of their friends. These photos are a snapshot of the children's favourite 'things'. I hope nobody loves boa constrictors!!!

Today has been a very windy day and many of the children have opted to stay inside and build. The children have been working together in small groups, working on individual or group projects. There has been lots of magnificent creations!

Some of the children have agreed to talk about their creations through this photostory.

Thursday 10th September 2009

Some of the children at Next Generation have been having a competition on the Dora the Explorer website playing the game Dora's Puppy Adventure. The children are all competing against one another for the top score but I don't know if anyone can beat Rachael. These pop culture sites are great because the children are learning with their favourite characters. Most of the children's characters/shows do have free games sites where the children can create, explore and learn. Be cyber safe and have fun exploring the web with your child.
